Blue Days

Photo: Brian Federle, Sunset at Pacifica Seawall, 2013

Blue
days race
to starry
grace, candles plunging
to panting dreams. Power is brief.
The mounting sun with youthful stride lusts for noon’s brightest
heights, but ennui runs deep gently
recedes sun’s fading
fire to
rising
pyre.

  1. Excellent! I really like 'the mountaing sun with youthful stride lusts for noon's brightest heights...' You definitely rocked this form!

  2. I love the picture you paint, rich in vibrant colour and feelings. especially deep gently recedes sin;s fading fire. I had not thought about extending lines into a kind of eternal word snake, but it really works, well done my compliments.

  3. Ennui runs deep... that phrase really caught my attention and made me think. This is lovely in both cadence and flow as well as form. So glad you shared it with us at Verse First.
